Dev Log 2 - Pitching a Game

Hello all, in this devlog I'll be going over the game my team decided to develop. My pitch was the one that ended being chosen, which was about AI ethics.

The game is called Auto Shipping Solutions, which involves managing a robot as it completes its shipping related tasks. The player needs to ensure the robot finishes its daily tasks while making sure it stays fueled and happy.  The robot will get more "sentient" as it goes on, which just means it will be more difficult to manage.

The team thought it was a good fit as the scope is relatively small with very complex mechanics. We don't have any super good programmers so this kind of had to be the case. We did have several good 2D artists, so top 2D is the art style we're going with. Beyond that the theme is relatively obvious straight off that bat, fulfilling the resonant game requirement well. It's also fairly modular, with mechanics being easily removed and added which hopefully lend it self well to agile.

Overall I'm happy with our team, and I feel this shouldn't be to much of a struggle to finish when the time comes. There are a lot of specifics about the game that aren't ironed out yet, things like tone and how specific mechanics will work. I guess that's to be expected, and we will figure it out while making the GDD.
